Minos Spacefighter was just updated to support flight mode with compatible controllers. This update has a tonne of fixes and changes how the game is developed. Of note the game is now built with Unity’s Technical Preview version for Daydream and Cardboard. This has a bunch of optimizations and fixes however is only available for Android currently. Once iOS support is offered we can get this great new update out to iPhone users as well.
New Feature:
- Now fly with a supported gamepad and look around the cockpit while trying to track down your next target!
Updates:
- Use a controller to control your ship! For a list of supported controllers see: Supported Controllers
- To enable the controller flight mode connect the controller. In the Main Menu scene open the ‘Options’ panel and make sure the option ‘Look to Fly’ is disabled.
- To change the controller layout push the ‘Pause’ button on the controller in the Main Menu scene to open a menu to configure the controls to your liking.
- Now using the new GVR plugin 1.1. Google has removed support for the magnetic button in Google Cardboard. To continue playing the game with a old version of Google Cardboard go to the Main Menu. Open the ‘Options’ panel and set ‘Trigger’ to ‘Disabled’ this will allow playing without any kind of trigger button.
Bug fixes:
- A ton of Performance fixes
- Ammo recharge will now completely recharge when not firing
- S7 support fixed with new Cardboard plugin
Hope you enjoy this new way to experience Minos Spacefighter!
Great start for a space game! Onky issue is the joystick moves the ship way too slowly… I can’t turn fast enough to shoot the smaller ships.
Game doesn’t load on my asus ZenFone 2. It just shows a 3d layout of controller optionswith no way of chosing mode with or w/o controller. My phone is cardboard enabled and I’m using wearality vr. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
Hi Richie, There is a coming update to Minos Spacefighter that should help support this phone. Google has been very slow in updates to the Cardboard SDK. I am hoping to release the update in the next 2 weeks.
Hi! Just bought it, I love this game! I’m playing with an LG G3 and PS4 controller via bluetooth, and I always pitch to the left. The controller is fine, is there any way to fix this?
Unfortunately not really. The PS4 controller isn’t fully supported over Bluetooth, but can work over USB sometimes depending on which version of Android you are running.
Got the steelseries Stratus XL win/android version. However the game allways autofire. makes it hard to play. Otherwis works as a charm. Is it supposed to do that or is it a way to turn autofire off?
Yeah under the Options menu, Enable the Trigger option. That should sort it out.
How do we replenish the weapons.
I get so far and the weapons run out of energy leaving me defenseless.
Thanks.
If you stop shooting for awhile the energy will recharge and you can shoot again.
Love the look of this game!! Tho unfortunatly i dont have a trigger and the only way to shoot is if I tap the screen… any way to fix this so I can look to shoot?
In the options menu there is an option to say you don’t have a trigger and it will shoot automatically for you when looking at a enemy.
